Here is an idea for your comments section.
Hey guys! I would like to be able to close a whole comment by clicking on an arrow at the top right corner of it. It would be good to just skip a whole comment you are not interested in reading without having to scroll down all the way past the responses that comment has.
You could do this with every post, even replies with comments under it.

Videos autoplay when I click on "articles"
When I read IGN I open several tabs at a time careful to avoid "Watch!" or "Video" because I want to read other articles first and watch videos when I have more time. However, the problem is that out of nowhere I'll hear a video start to play but not know where it's coming from. I have to go through the tabs to find the video with no indication that the page I clicked on opened an auto-playing video.

I don't like your new layout
I can't click onto what parts of the site I want because are OVERlays. I wanted the Wii IGN site but was directed to join IGN instead. Isn't the point of a link to go where you want to go when you clicked on it?
I saw a V and thought that it was a W for the Wii site. I found myself instead at the Vita site.

Region News!
It's not really the slider, but the whole front page, but anyway.
You should make a section in the front page for Japanese news and Western Hemisphere news. I'm talking about developers, release dates, screens...so everything isn't all jumbled up!

An IGN app for PS3 and/or PS Vita
Well XBOX 360 has it. Why not PS3 or Vita? I've always felt that Ign was always more Playstation oriented by at least 52% over XBOX

More colour, and add some more walkthroughs and tips
make the home page easier to browse, more colour.... and add Minecraft to "add an account"

Bring back the drop down menus on the top menu bar!
I like the new layout which eliminates some clutter but I miss the drop down menus, like when you highlight 3DS at the top of the site you can go right to Reviews, Games, Message Boards, etc. Now it takes a lot longer to get there. it becomes troublesome to find things like that. It's almost impossible to go to the list of games for a specific category like Wii or 3DS.
Also just as a side note, it would be nice to improve your video player. For instance it would be nice when your watching a video in full…

Stop Audio Ads
Don't get me wrong I understand that advertisement is key to keeping you in business but the audio ads are terrible. I'm not talking about the ones that play randomly before videos i choose to watch that is fine. The ads I'm talking about are the ones on the side of any page that start playing random annoying ads. I used to come to the site every day but now I don't think i can come back until at least after the election. Review games better.
Maybe you should switch reviewers. Get the opinions of a few other reviewers before posting reviews about your own opinion. Some of your reviews are just so harsh...

No more auto expanding advertisements
Just give the option to expand the advertisement, if it is something I think is good then I can click on it. Because it automatically does it I have a large amount of hatred toward it already and no longer care what the advertisement is.

I used to find games cheats on here very easy but u have made it impossible for me to find now! it seems only recent games come up!

Please Fix the HD Video Playback
Auto-HD is a pain and doesn't really work. Please just let us decide what quality to watch the video in. It works for YouTube and Vimeo. This clicking a button that seemingly does nothing and then waiting for it to randomly decide to switch to HD is annoying and usually only switches halfway through, or right at the end of a video.
