How can we improve the future of IGN?

Improving Advertisement

I understand advertisements are required for revenue and respect it. Please allow the video we wanted to watch buffer in the background while the advertisement is showing and try to stop the simultaneous playing of both the video and advertisement.

The advertising is getting out of hand on this site. I've been google searching for other gaming web sites that don't pull this kind of crap. I've been going to IGN for yeas for all the info and reviews I need for games and I respect your experts analysis and opninions but holy crap I can't go to a single page without having ads splashed in my face. Just like everyone else, i understand, make your money but tone it down a bit. It's extremely annoying having to click through an ad page EVERY time I click on a new topic, then having the scrolling ads coming across the page I'm trying to read.

I'm checking out other sites from now on, maybe I'll check back here once in a while to see if it gets any better, who knows.

I actually use an adblocker add on in my browser to get rid of all of the ads and it works. If this wasn't the case, I would have ditched IGN years ago...

And I feel bombarded when I go to the home page. A video playing in the corner as well as activity at the top of the page AND the entire page being surrounded by an ad. It's a little too much. I'm not sure what other options there are but it's something to consider I think
