How can we improve blogs on IGN?

Give MyIGN Moderators More Power

MyIGN is being overrun by imposters, spammers, and the like. Currently, moderators are only able to stop them from commenting on blogs. They need to be able to do more.

While I do agree with giving more power to this mods. What "power" do we give them. I like the free nature of posting on My IGN and be able to give my opinion with the words I see fit. What I'm getting at is, how much power is too much power?

never had any trolls myself luckily but i would vote for this, there are plenty places where people just leave spam or abuse - youtube, FB and the like, the MYign community is no place for people like these, im sure the admin do as much as they can but as people know the Moderators are more active so giving them the power stop leaving bad posts on walls and such is a must

        Give them the power! :)
Maybe make it so two three mods have to vote on having a ban implemented so not to cause controversy. Peace.

I haven't noticed the spam yet, but the Game Collection needs to be fixed as well. This is my main blog spot but I hate that I can't update my collection w/ games I don't have anymore. A simple fix that needs to take place while you're "fixing" things.

Considering the board moderators had powers under the old boards and blog systems, I don't understand why they don't have powers under MyIGN.

Though I haven't been directly affected by this yet, I have seen other users I know being harassed recently and I want to do something about it. Right now, our only defense is manually blocking each new account these imposters create, which is a pain, and just isn't going to cut it, seeing as how blocked users can still reply to your friends' statuses and even on your blogs.
I'm here to support the two moderators on MyIGN who want to fix this problem, but are somehow almost as powerless as we are when it comes to controlling this onslaught of abuse.

I don't think the mods deserve more power because the mods on this site can tend to be abusive assholes to the users.

Moderators on MyIGN need to be given more power to deal with the upswing of trolls and abusive users we've seen recently. On two seperate occasions the same user has been able to spam the hell out of everybody and spread his ridiculous agenda, which has had the whole community in an uproar. His latest tirade of nonsense has been going on for around 18 hours now and absolutely nothing can do about it, except for stopping him from commenting on blogs, which Amber was able to do within minutes of his first outburst. To the best of my knowledge, there is only one person active on MyIGN that can deal effectively with these problems, and one person can not be expected to be online 24/7, and they can't be expected to deal with every single thing. This responsibility needs to be shared and I think it is in the best interests of everyone that the moderators get the power to effectively combat the disruptive elements of our great community.
