Integrate the rank system with the boards
As someone who spends as much, if not more time on the boards as I do on the blogs, it would be nice for my level to reflect that. Maybe award one point per board post, and two for creating a new thread.
This is being considered so vote for it if you want it!

As a board used since 2006 I really do not want any ranking system on the boards.

Well aren't you special. I wish I was self-confident enough to go around needlessly criticizing others on the internet.
Nope, no irony there.

When I posted this, I was mainly thinking along the lines of the current level system as is, with the only difference being that each board post adds a point. Not necessarily any kind of level displays on the boards.
Not to say I wouldn't like to see the levels carry over to the boards and be displayed there, I think they should since they are a significant part of IGN, but at the very least, board posts should count toward the level, even if it's not displayed on the boards.

that's gonna cause the retarded spam of the sort: "Do you like bananas?"

NOOOO. Go to the vestibule (where the vast majority of board members post), ask this question and you will get close to a unanimously negative response.

I'm actually not too fond of the idea, there's already postcount & WULs as an indicator for board posters, and there's enough spamming as it is (see the Vesti) without people also cluttering up MyIGN to get points/levels.

I'm voicing my support for this measure since I cannot vote... I am... not a citizen...
